Chief Manager – Finance & Strategic Planning Division

Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC (MBSL), a leading finance company and a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the above position.

Qualifications & experience

• Fully qualified professional in accounting or finance from a a recognised professional body such as CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, or CIMA.
• A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ of experience in a managerial position in the finance department, preferably in the banking or finance sector.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting and financial controls.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Preferably below 45 years of age.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the smooth functioning of finance division operations.
• Monitor financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Ensure timely submission of MIS and statutory reports.
• Review financial statements, regulatory reports, and board papers.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve system efficiencies.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead annual report activities and support strategic planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
• Manage, guide, and develop departmental staff.
