What is the role?
The Field Officer is responsible for supporting milk procurement operations by developing and maintaining strong relationships with farmers and milk suppliers, ensuring achievement of milk collection targets, maintaining required milk quality standards, and supporting dairy development initiatives within the assigned territory. The role contributes to supplier network expansion, cost-effective milk collection, farmer development, welfare scheme implementation, and timely reporting to the achievement of organizational objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of the farmer base and milk collection network in the assigned MCC area.
- Monitor milk procurement activities, competitor presence, and market share within the territory.
- Support the expansion of the dairy supplier network by encouraging new farmers to engage in dairy farming.
- Support milk procurement activities in a cost-effective manner while ensuring achievement of collection targets with the required quality standards.
- Coordinate and implement dairy development projects by identifying eligible farmers, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Assessing farmer needs, and facilitating training and empowerment initiatives within the assigned territory.
- Ensure accurate registration of farmers under approved welfare schemes.
- Maintain updated records relating to supplier additions, changes, and scheme participation.
Knowledge and skills
- Higher National Diploma or Full-Time Diploma related to Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Dairy Science, Livestock Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in dairy development, milk procurement, agricultural extension services, or a related field.
- Knowledge of dairy farming practices, milk collection operations, and supplier relationship management will be an added advantage.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory to support milk procurement and farmer development activities.
- Male candidates preferred.
