Agriculture Development Executive

A member of the David Pieris Group, D P Global Ventures (Pvt) Ltd. (DPGV) manufactures a range of organic and value-added agro products for the local and export markets. The Company has a proven track record in exports, to Europe, Australia, Japan, and the US, under its own brand as well as private labels, and also markets its products locally under the GLO brand.

Responsibilities

• Set up farmer groups to grow/supply the company requirements.
• Work closely with the Agriculture Officers of the Government when setting up farmer groups.
• Design crop calendars /harvest plans and updates the management.
• Forecast annual price and quantity indications for selected crops.
• Initiate forward sales agreements and backward integration programs with selected farmer groups.

Requirements

• A Degree in Agriculture or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute
• 2-3 years experience in the field, especially working with farmers
• Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with fluency in Sinhala/Tamil
