Chief Operating Officer

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational direction to employees aligned with the company’s business plans and strategic direction
  • Work with the executive team in growing and developing industry-leading practices, procedures, standards, and ways of working.
  • Collaborate with CEO and CFO in achieving financial results in terms of profitability, sales, and cash flow
  • Own company’s daily operations in terms of delivery, quality, and stability
  • Set aspirational operational targets for all levels of operations in terms of delivery and quality, and ensure continuous improvement of operational excellence
  • Establish effective and efficient measurement approaches to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of all the operational processes
  • Establish consistency of existing ways of working and introduce new practices to drive results across all the divisions.
  • Ensure operational management reporting is timely, decision-making friendly, and accurate
  • Ensure robust operational forecasts, budgets, and resource planning practices are in place and operational.
  • Ensure the daily well-being of employees at all levels from the point of view of motivation, satisfaction, growth, and work-life balance.
  • Own operational results while holding the leaders at all operational levels accountable to achieve overall operational goals.
  • Ensure operational decisions and management operations are done based on metrics and data while creating a culture of data-driven operations management
  • Manage and improve relationships with clients and vendors.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience and results in operational leadership
  • Being able to integrate functions such as HR, Finance, marketing, etc.
  • Demonstrated results in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Being able to motivate while holding the operations organization accountable to achieve set goals
  • Data-driven and structured problem-solving skills
  • Strong belief and action in performance coaching and management by being on the ground.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
