Area Sales Manager
Role overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead and expand our sales operations within the assigned territory. This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key distributor relationships, and overseeing retail execution across the region. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in mobile phones and/or accessories, along with a proven ability to scale distribution and lead channel performance.
Key responsibilities
- Own and drive sales targets for the assigned territory, ensuring consistent achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
- Manage and develop relationships with key distributors, ensuring alignment on sales plans, stock management, and market execution.
- Expand the distribution network by identifying and onboarding new partners, retailers, and key accounts.
- Oversee retail execution, ensuring strong product visibility, optimal merchandising, and brand representation across outlets.
- Monitor sell-in and sell-through performance, inventory levels, and channel health, taking proactive actions to optimise sales.
- Lead negotiations with distributors and key retail partners on commercial terms, promotions, and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to plan and execute product launches, trade campaigns, and in-store activations.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Manage and mentor field sales executives (if applicable), ensuring strong performance, discipline, and market coverage.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and market intelligence updates for senior management.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of sales experience in consumer electronics, with a strong focus on mobile phones and/or accessories.
- Proven track record of managing distributors and achieving sales targets in a defined territory.
- Strong understanding of retail and distribution dynamics within the mobile accessories or handset ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence, and build long-term trade relationships.
- Leadership experience managing field teams or channel partners is preferred.
- Highly analytical with strong planning and execution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); experience with CRM tools is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
