Trainee merchandiser – Veyangoda
We are looking for a Trainee Merchandiser to be responsible for coordinating with the company and sub-production units. Duties will include preparing production reports and following up on production from product development to finished product availability at the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate product development, production and delivery.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity and customer performance.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies.
- Collaborate with design, production and logistics teams.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate with foreign suppliers to inquire about prices, negotiate terms, and place orders.
- Accountable for relevant supplier and and customer accounts and managing the entire process from development, and order confirmation to delivery.
- Work with the development, planning, and warehouse teams to book capacity and book future forecasts.
Qualifications
- A diploma in merchandising or related.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in working with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), internet and email.
- Age below 35 years.
