Tech Lead – RPG

Key responsibilities

1. Programming on the AS/400 platform includes RPG/400, RPGLE, CLLE, SDA, RLU, RPG.
2. Free CLLE, SQL/400, SQLRPGLE and DB2/400 is necessary.
3. Experience in using and handling data queues.
4. Ability to create technical documentation.
5. Ability to work frequently improving agile practice and adhere to the organization agility.
6. Team work abilities and willingness to work extended hours.
7. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
8. Good understanding of technology & architectural concepts.
9. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to a non technical audience.
10. Knowledge in the banking and financial domain will be an added advantage.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
2. 10+ years of RPG development experience (ILE RPG, Free-Format RPG).
3. Deep understanding of the IBM i (AS/400) operating system.
4. Experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers.
5. Strong knowledge of database concepts and DB2 for i.
6. Experience with modern RPG development tools (e.g., Aldon).
7. Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
8. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
9. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
10. Experience with relevant technologies or frameworks (e.g., Web Services, APIs).
