SGB & Portfolio Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented small growing business (SGB) & portfolio manager to lead and expand our SGB loan portfolio. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong SME lending expertise and a passion for supporting business growth.

Job responsibilities

1. Grow and manage the SGB loan portfolio in line with business targets.
2. Identify, onboard, and retain small growing business clients.
3. Conduct credit appraisals, business assessments, and cash-flow analysis.
4. Monitor portfolio quality, repayments, arrears, and recovery performance.
5. Build strong, long-term relationships with clients by providing financial guidance.
6. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and microfinance laws.

Key requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, banking, economics, or a related field.
2. Minimum 10 years’ experience in microfinance, SME lending, or relationship management.
3. Strong understanding of small business operations and cash-flow-based lending.
4. Proven experience in portfolio management, recovery, and credit risk control.
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
6. Proficiency in MS Office and lending / core banking systems.
