Your role

As a valued member of our English department, you will:

1. Deliver engaging, challenging, and inspiring English language and literature lessons across key stage 3 and IGCSE.
2. Foster curiosity, analytical thinking, creativity, and confident communication in students.
3. Create a stimulating classroom environment where students feel motivated to achieve their full potential.
4. Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
5. Use technology meaningfully to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
6. Support and lead extracurricular and enrichment opportunities that bring English beyond the classroom.
7. Play an active role in the wider life of our diverse and dynamic school community.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for an educator who:

1. Holds a degree in English or a closely related field (a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGDE/PGCE is an advantage).
2. Is an experienced and passionate teacher of English language and literature.
3. Has experience teaching across a broad secondary age range.
4. Ideally has experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE English language and literature.
5. Has a strong track record of achieving excellent student outcomes in external examinations.
6. Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
7. Is enthusiastic, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to high-quality teaching and learning.
8. Brings energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for inspiring students.
