Your Role

As a valued member of our English Department, you will:

• Deliver engaging, challenging, and inspiring English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and IGCSE.
• Foster curiosity, analytical thinking, creativity, and confident communication in students.
• Create a stimulating classroom environment where students feel motivated to achieve their full potential.
• Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
• Use technology meaningfully to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
• Support and lead extracurricular and enrichment opportunities that bring English beyond the classroom.
• Play an active role in the wider life of our diverse and dynamic school community.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an educator who:

• Holds a degree in English or a closely related field (a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGDE/PGCE is an advantage).
• Is an experienced and passionate teacher of English Language and Literature.
• Has experience teaching across a broad secondary age range.
• Ideally has experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE English Language and Literature.
• Has a strong track record of achieving excellent student outcomes in external examinations.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Is enthusiastic, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to high-quality teaching and learning.
• Brings energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for inspiring students.
