Senior Merchandiser

Job responsibility

1. Sample development according to development team’s / management instructions.
2. Work allocation to the sample room for continuation of the sample process smoothly.
3. Preparing garment costings.
4. Getting approvals on samples from management and maintain sample racks.
5. Maintain and organize supplier details files.
6. Communication with the suppliers and place orders.
7. Monitor and maintain fabric / lace stocks & sample yards in coordination with warehouse and imports department.
8. Fabric allocation / issuing to suppliers and follow-up on cutting completion.

Qualifications & experience

1. Four years’ experience in relevant positions.
2. A/L and degree or diploma in relevant area.
3. Good communication skills in English / Sinhala.
4. Computer literate with Excel and ERP system knowledge.
5. Willing to work extra hours and weekends if necessary.
6. Previous working experience in a retail business is an added advantage.
7. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
8. Should be able to perform additional duties as and when the need arises.
9. Knowledge and working experience on product costings and negotiating costs with suppliers.
10. Follow up on styles and provide necessary information to ensure smooth production flow.
