Senior Frontend Developer

Key responsibilities

1. Develop custom, high-performance themes for Shopify and WordPress without excessive reliance on frameworks like Bootstrap or jQuery.
2. Implement clean, custom CSS and JavaScript from scratch for unique UI/UX solutions.
3. Work with Shopify’s Liquid templating and custom section development to create fully customized store experiences.
4. Develop and customize WordPress themes/plugins, ensuring clean and maintainable code.
5. Integrate RESTful APIs, AJAX, and Shopify’s Storefront API for dynamic, data-driven frontend experiences.
6. Optimize websites for performance, accessibility, SEO, and mobile responsiveness (lazy loading, critical CSS, script minimization, etc.).
7. Debug and troubleshoot cross-browser compatibility issues and ensure a seamless user experience across all devices.
8. Work with Git for version control and utilize build tools like Webpack, Gulp, or similar to streamline development.
9. Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementations.
10. Stay up to date with modern web development trends and best practices.

Requirements

1. 3+ years of experience in frontend development, specializing in Shopify and WordPress.
2. Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and writing custom CSS/JS.
3. Experience developing custom Shopify themes with Liquid templating.
4. Hands-on experience with WordPress theme/plugin development (PHP knowledge is a plus).
5. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, AJAX, and Shopify’s Storefront API.
6. Deep knowledge of performance optimization techniques (lazy loading, critical CSS, minification).
7. Experience with Git and frontend build tools like Webpack, Gulp.
8. Ability to debug and resolve browser compatibility issues.
9. Solid understanding of responsive design principles and best practices.
