Security officer

De La Rue Lanka Currency & Security Print (Pvt) Ltd., invites applications from qualified and experienced citizens of Sri Lanka who have served in the regular service of the Tri Forces or the SL Police with the following requirements to be considered for the post of security officer on contract basis.

Job responsibilities

1. Ensuring a secure and protective environment that enables all De La Rue employees to perform their tasks at an optimum level.
2. Safeguarding De La Rue employees, visitors, properties and assets from potential threats.

Minimum requirements

Educational qualifications

Qualified in GCE (A/L) examination.

Age

Male/female: preferred age 35-55 years.

Physical requirements

The candidates are required to be medically, physically and psychologically fit & able to work night and rotational shifts.

Experience

1. Experience with an unblemished and uninterrupted regular service in the Sri Lanka armed forces or the Sri Lanka police.
2. Preference for those who served at sergeant level or above, or equivalent rank.
3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a multinational manufacturing organisation as a security officer.
4. Overseas or embassy experience in a security officer role or higher.
5. Specialization in other fields (special forces, explosives, provost, weapon or physical training instructor, fire and safety, communicator, intelligence, etc.) will be considered as an added advantage.

Other requirements

1. Police clearance is mandatory.
2. Residence within 25-45 km from the workplace.
3. Health & safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, first aid, etc.).
4. IT literacy and basic networking knowledge.
5. Knowledge of modern security systems, including CCTV surveillance, electronic access control, perimeter protection and alarm systems.
6. Polite, professional and well-mannered at all times.

Suitable candidates will be selected based on a written examination followed by a medical examination and one or more interviews.
