Sales Manager – Key Accounts

Role overview

To build and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive business growth, by developing and executing sales strategies supported by market insights and regular performance reviews.

Competencies

  1. Bachelor’s degree in sales/marketing, post graduate diploma or similar qualifications in the relevant field from a recognized university or professional institute.
  2. MBA or postgraduate qualification in a related discipline (added advantage).
  3. Extensive experience of 5-6 years, minimum of 2-3 years in modern trade, institutional sales or key account management preferably in the healthcare sector.
  4. Demonstrated relationships with key hospital supply chains, group procurement organizations and pharmacy retail chains.
  5. Proven track record in credit control, receivables follow-up and dispute resolution.
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution channels and institutional procurement models.
  7. Strong negotiation and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  8. Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and develop high performing teams.
  9. Strong analytical skills and proficient in using sales reporting tools, ERP systems, CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.

Scope & responsibilities

  1. Manage and enhance relationships with key opinion leaders in the sector.
  2. Develop and implement specific sales strategies to maximize revenue and client satisfaction.
  3. Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to assess satisfaction, performance metrics and future needs.
  4. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  5. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies and ethics.
  6. Collaborative with internal teams, including HR, IT, QA, warehouse, marketing, logistics and finance to drive business success.
