Duties & responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute regional general insurance business strategies in line with corporate objectives.
  2. Achieve regional revenue and profitability targets through effective sales and operational management.
  3. Oversee branch operations within the region including underwriting, claims, administration, and staff management.
  4. Monitor branch performance within the region and ensure achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  5. Identify business opportunities and implement promotional and channel development initiatives to drive growth.
  6. Ensure effective utilization of human resources and maintain high service standards across the region.
  7. Coordinate training and development initiatives for sales and non-sales staff.
  8. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, business partners, and other stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
  9. Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to support strategic decision-making.
  10. Maintain the company’s image and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  11. Carry out any additional duties assigned by the management in line with business requirements.

Qualifications & pre-requisites

  1. Master’s degree / degree / special degree / professional qualification or equivalent related to the functional area from a University Grants Commission approved university / institute.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience at the managerial level with overall more than 10 years of executive experience in the sales industry.
  3. Excellent communication skills (Sinhala/ Tamil & English).
  4. Building effective interpersonal relationships. Clear and continuous track record on performance.
  5. Age preferably below 50 years.
  6. Leadership skills.
  7. Ability to work under pressure.
  8. Multitasking skills.
  9. Clear and continuous track record in performance.
  10. Negotiation skill.
