Quantity Surveyor

Studio Eleven Interiors is looking for an interior design quantity surveyor (QS) who manages all financial and contractual aspects of interior fit-out projects, ensuring cost-efficiency from design to completion.
Core responsibilities
- Cost estimation & budgeting: Analyzing drawings and specifications to calculate material, labor, and time requirements to produce accurate budgets.
- Tender and contract management: Preparing tender documents, analyzing bids, and drafting/negotiating contracts.
- Cost control & monitoring: Tracking project expenses, managing variations (scope changes), and ensuring the project remains within the approved budget.
- Valuation & payments: Conducting on-site valuations of completed work to authorize payments for contractors and subcontractors.
- Value engineering: Recommending alternative materials or construction methods to maximize cost-efficiency without compromising design quality.
- Risk management & reporting: Identifying potential financial risks and providing regular cost reports to stakeholders.
Key requirements & skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in interior design, fit-out, and joinery projects (often 3-5+ years).
- Technical skills: Proficiency in quantity take-offs, cost estimation software, and understanding technical drawings.
- Soft skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Key performance indicators (KPIs):
- Delivering projects within the final agreed budget.
- Minimizing cost variations.
- Ensuring timely, accurate subcontractor payments and final accounts.
