Psychosocial Support Officer
Emerge Lanka Foundation is a survivor-centered nonprofit working with girls and young women who have experienced child sexual abuse (see www.emergelanka.org). For over 20 years, Emerge has walked alongside more than 1,800 young women as they heal, build confidence, and transition into independent adulthood.
A core part of this work takes place in state-run shelters, where many children spend years navigating complex systems after experiencing trauma. Creating safe, supportive spaces within these environments is critical to their healing and development.
We are looking for a compassionate, grounded, and skilled individual to join our team as a Psychosocial Support Officer—someone who can create child-friendly, trauma-informed spaces and support children in reconnecting with themselves and others.
This is a part-time role (4 days per week) that combines direct facilitation, case support, and collaboration with shelter staff and the Emerge team. You will use creative, child-friendly approaches—such as art, play, and storytelling—to support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and healing.
