Production engineer (AM/SE grade)

Responsibilities

1. Overall manufacturing responsibility – achieving budgeted manufacturing targets and parameters.
2. Leading, coordinating, and facilitating all manufacturing departments to achieve their respective targets.
3. Plan and execute production schedules.
4. Ensuring all operators are trained to standards.
5. Consistent analysis of productivity and performance indicators.
6. Execute internal controls and ensure product quality standards are strictly enforced.
7. Support new product development and process optimization activities.
8. Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs and preventive maintenance.

Profile

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in production engineering or manufacturing – polythene extrusion (LLDPE/LDPE/HDPE) is required.
2. BSc degree or diploma in engineering, polymer science, manufacturing management or physical science from a recognized university.
3. Knowledge and experience with ISO, BRC, and Lean Management concepts are added advantage.
4. Experience working in an export-orientated organization is an advantage.
5. Attitude – must be confident and handle pressure situations working in a dynamic environment.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Fluency in English and Sinhala, all forms.

Production supervisor

Responsibilities

1. Supervise daily production operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
2. Coordinate machine operations, manpower allocation, and production activities.
3. Execute production plans and ensure timely completion of schedules.
4. Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety requirements, GMP, and housekeeping standards.
5. Monitor productivity, wastage, downtime, and overall line performance.
6. Maintain discipline, attendance, and communication within the production team.
7. Support continuous improvement initiatives for process efficiency and cost reduction.
8. Coordinate with maintenance, QA, stores, and other departments for smooth operations.
9. Prepare and maintain production reports, shift records, and operational documents accurately and on time.

Profile

1. Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Good knowledge of production operations, machine handling, quality standards, and safety practices.
3. Ability to supervise shop-floor employees and manage shift operations effectively.
4. Basic knowledge of GMP, ISO, housekeeping, and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
5. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
