OHS Executive

Darley Butler & Co. Ltd markets some of most popular FMCG brands in the Sri Lankan market. With the growth of our portfolio of brands and our continuous strive for excellence, we are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual who can lead the occupational health & safety implementation in our manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

1. Implement and maintain the site occupational health & safety management system in line with company standards, legal requirements and ISO guidelines.
2. Conduct and support hazard identification and risk assessments.
3. Ensure safe work procedures, method statements, and permits to work are in place.
4. Coordinate incident, accident, and near miss reporting, lead investigation and maintain accurate data on all the incidents.
5. Carry out routine site safety inspections and workplace audits.
6. Conduct safety inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors and periodic safety training programs, and drills.
7. Ensure contractors comply with site OHS requirements.
8. Support development and implementation of emergency response plans.
9. Ensure correct PPE selection, availability, and usage.
10. Maintain OHS records, registers, and reports.
11. Identify opportunities to improve safety performance with coordination with group head of health & safety.

Candidate profile

1. Person having a degree/diploma in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 1 year work experience in the field of health & safety.
3. Strong interest in workplace safety, risk management, and compliance.
4. Familiarity with MS Office tools; knowledge of OHS regulations is an advantage.
5. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
6. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
7. Location: Colombo-based with exposure to multiple manufacturing sites.
