Monitoring Quantity Surveyor (QS)

About the company

SMS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd is a well-established ISO certified company specializing in interlocking paving’s, road, building & gabion structure contraction for Sri Lanka. We are looking for talented, self-motivated, dynamic individuals for the following position.

Key responsibilities

Progress monitoring

1. Collect and analyze daily site progress reports from site staff
2. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress of paving works
3. Compare planned vs. actual progress and highlight variances
4. Coordinate with site engineers and project teams to address delays and implement corrective actions
5. Prepare progress reports and management dashboards
6. Submit subcontractor work done details twice weekly (Monday & Thursday) for payment processing
7. Ensure all subcontractor work complies with company standards and specifications

Material control & reconciliation

1. Monitor and reconcile material usage including:
2. Identify material variances and report discrepancies
3. Ensure efficient utilization and cost control of materials

Requirements

1. Degree or diploma in quantity surveying / construction management
2. Trainees are encouraged to apply (fresh graduates are preferable)
3. Minimum 2–4 years of experience in construction or paving projects
4. Strong knowledge of material reconciliation and site monitoring
5. Excellent analytical and reporting skills
6. Good communication and coordination abilities
7. Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
