Medical laboratory technician

Job profile

1. Perform routine laboratory tests such as hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology.
2. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment following SOPs and safety guidelines.
3. Ensure proper documentation, data entry, and timely reporting of test results.
4. Maintain quality control procedures and participate in internal/external quality assessments.
5. Adhere to infection control protocols and laboratory hygiene standards.
6. Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, doctors, and the laboratory team.
7. Assist in inventory management of reagents and supplies.

Qualifications

1. Diploma / degree in medical laboratory technology from a recognized institution.
2. Good knowledge of laboratory practices, safety protocols, and equipment handling.
3. Ability to work in shifts, including weekends if required.
4. Attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication skills.

6. Applicants from in and around the Kandy area are preferred.
7. Candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant experience.
