Manager – Cooler Maintenance Unit (CMU)

The pioneer in Sri Lanka’s bottled water industry & a market leader in the FMCG sector in Sri Lanka with a staff strength of over 1200, with an extended reach across Logistics & SCM, Construction, Polymer Packaging sectors within Sri Lanka as well as other Asian markets, is looking for an individual for immediate employment. The ideal candidate should be dynamic, highly motivated, and results oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities

1. Manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of company-owned coolers and refrigeration units across assigned regions
2. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
3. Lead, train, and supervise a team of technicians and support staff
4. Monitor and control maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and service costs
5. Ensure all equipment complies with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
6. Coordinate with sales and distribution teams to ensure optimal cooler placement and functionality in outlets
7. Manage third-party service providers and negotiate service contracts where necessary
8. Track and report KPIs such as equipment uptime, response time, and maintenance efficiency
9. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, refrigeration & air conditioning, or a related field
2. Minimum 5–8 years of experience in refrigeration or cooler maintenance, preferably in the beverage/FMCG industry
3. Proven leadership experience managing technical teams
4. Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems and maintenance practices
5. Good problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
7. Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance tracking systems
8. Willingness to travel frequently
