Lecturer – cyber security

Key responsibilities

1. Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in cyber security related subjects.
2. Prepare lesson plans, lecture materials, assignments, and examination papers.
3. Conduct student assessments and provide constructive feedback.
4. Supervise student projects, research activities, and laboratory sessions.
5. Support curriculum development and continuous academic improvements.
6. Maintain accurate academic records and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
7. Participate in departmental meetings, academic activities, and administrative tasks.
8. Stay updated with current industry trends, technologies, and best practices in cyber security.

Required skills & qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in cyber security or a related field.
2. Master’s qualification in cyber security or a related specialization.
3. Minimum 2-3 years of industry and/or teaching experience.
4. Strong knowledge of cyber security, ethical hacking, network security, cloud security, and digital forensics.
5. Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, Fortinet, or Palo Alto technologies would be an advantage.
6. Professional certifications such as CEH, Security+, CISSP, or CISM would be preferred.
7. Good communication, presentation, and student management skills.
8. Prior higher education teaching experience would be an added advantage.
