Intern – Purchasing / Procurement / Imports
Key responsibilities
- Conduct product research and source new suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate cost-effective contracts for materials, goods, and services.
- Perform inventory inspections and reorder supplies as required.
- Inspect and immediately report faulty items or stock discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, payments, and received goods.
- Coordinate with the delivery team and follow up on pending or delayed orders.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers, vendors, and clients.
Requirements
- Diploma or certification in business management, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Excellent networking and time management skills.
Upon successful completion of the 6-month internship/training period, the candidate may be considered for permanent employment based on performance and company requirements.
Stores Executive
Key responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day store operations.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory control.
- Support receiving, storing, and issuing materials.
- Coordinate with procurement and production teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of stores or warehouse experience.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Computer literate; ERP knowledge is advantageous.
- Team-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Preference: candidates near Kandana / Kerawalapitiya.
Senior Purchasing Executive / Purchasing Executive
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance.
- Conduct cost analysis and optimize inventory levels.
- Coordinate with internal teams for timely delivery.
- Prepare procurement reports for management.
- Lead and mentor junior purchasing staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, or related field.
- 5+ years in purchasing/procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft office.
- Knowledge of the cement industry is a plus.
