Intern – Engineering

Key responsibilities

1. Assist in the design, installation and commissioning of solar energy systems.
2. Support site surveys, feasibility studies and data collection.
3. Prepare technical drawings, layouts and documentation.
4. Liaise with CEB/LECO offices for project clearance and updates.
5. Monitor project progress and support the team in meeting timelines.
6. Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance and performance evaluation.
7. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
8. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
9. Maintain accurate project records, reports and technical data.
10. Apply industry best practices and new technologies in renewable energy.

Key requirements

1. HND in engineering (electrical or solar preferred) – HNDE/NDT/IET/SLIT/CINEC.
2. Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
3. Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical fundamentals.
4. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
5. Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software is an advantage.
6. Knowledge of HSE practices.
7. Fluent in Sinhala and English (Tamil is an added advantage).
8. Willingness to travel to project sites.
9. Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
