Head of service delivery (outreach)
About the company
The family planning association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) is the pioneer institution that initiated and established a space for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in the country. While its aim is to develop components related to health and wellbeing, FPA Sri Lanka also molds the quality of people’s lives. Having existed for 73 years, FPA Sri Lanka has made vast strides across every area of family health, including family planning.
The outreach unit of the family planning association is the department that creates accessibility to essential SRH and family planning services among underserved, marginalized, and rural communities by reaching the unreached. Through its ten service delivery points in Ampara, Batticaloa, Koggala, Kilinochchi, Nuwara Eliya, Puttalam, Monaragala, Seethawaka, Wathupitiwala and Pallekalle, the outreach unit of FPA Sri Lanka ensures that SRH and family planning needs are fulfilled for vulnerable populations through various modalities of services. The outreach unit is also exploring possibilities for expanding service delivery to several districts. In addition to the services provided, the outreach unit of FPASL also carries out humanitarian programmes and works in close collaboration with the UNFPA.
