Head of finance | finance controller

We are looking for a head of finance / finance controller to lead and manage the financial operations of one of our group companies. This role is suited for a detail-oriented and commercially aware finance professional who can ensure strong financial control, compliance, and reporting accuracy while supporting business performance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable standards.
2. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
3. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support performance management.
4. Ensure effective internal controls, financial governance, and risk management practices.
5. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost controls to maintain financial stability.
6. Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
7. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making.
8. Lead and supervise the finance team, driving accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
2. A professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, or CIMA is required.
3. Minimum of 8 years’ overall experience in finance, including at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, with strong exposure to financial reporting and internal controls.
4. Prior experience in a head of finance / finance controller or similar role will be an added advantage.
5. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
6. High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to manage deadlines, multiple priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
8. Experience within a group or multi-entity environment will be an added advantage.
