You will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and creating demand forecasts to ensure inventory is available at the right time and place. This role requires extensive data analysis from ERP systems, combined with Excel tools, to generate accurate outputs that support timely planning and ordering. Effective communication skills, with prompt responses to emails and calls, along with effective follow-up, will ensure smooth daily operations. Additionally, you will plan and forecast mid- to long-term demand schedules, mitigate potential stock-outs at retail points of sale and other channels, ensure product availability to meet revenue targets, and align suppliers with business needs.

Responsibilities

1. Plan and forecast demand to ensure adequate stock levels are available to meet current market demand.
2. Maintain impartial relationships with suppliers, ensuring multi-brand availability while aligning purchases with supplier imports.
3. Ensure each revenue stream meets budgeted targets, and that inventory availability does not hinder target achievement.
4. Utilize system-generated reports to prepare analyses and forecasts using MS Excel for required reporting.
5. Coordinate with management, partners, and suppliers to facilitate clear communication by using automated reporting tools and BI dashboards, ensuring transparency of stock levels and sell-out performance in line with pre-agreed plans.

Requirements and competencies

1. Age below 30 years.
2. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
3. Effective communication skills in both Sinhala and English; knowledge of Tamil is an added advantage.
4. Critical thinking skills with the ability to follow up and complete tasks efficiently.
5. A team player with a high level of dedication.
6. Previous experience in supply chain, sales planning, or demand planning, particularly in the FMCG sector, with proficiency in using ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle/SAP), will be an added advantage.
