Executive – Operations

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with port authorities, terminals and principals to secure timely berth arrangements for vessels upon arrival.
2. Prepare and submit pre-arrival documentation while liaising with relevant authorities to ensure smooth vessel clearance and berthing at all Sri Lankan ports.
3. Maintain effective and timely communication with principals, customers and other stakeholders ensuring prompt responses to operational requirements.
4. Ensure all local and principal operating systems are updated accurately and on time, while submitting required declarations to authorities in compliance with regulations.
5. Board vessels at Sri Lankan ports and coordinate with ship staff, terminals and service providers to facilitate smooth vessel and cargo operations.
6. Monitor and coordinate vessel and cargo operations to ensure efficient handling, timely completion, and seamless transshipment connections.
7. Provide timely arrival, departure, and operational updates to principals, customers, and relevant internal stakeholders following vessel movements.
8. Supply accurate cargo and operational information to support the preparation of final stowage plans and voyage documentation.
9. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with port authorities, customers, terminals, and other key stakeholders to support operational excellence.

Requirements

1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
2. Prior experience in RoRo vessel operations will be considered an added advantage.
3. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, logistics, or an equivalent professional qualification will be added advantage.
4. Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).
5. Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
6. Willingness to travel and work at all ports across Sri Lanka is essential.
