Executive – internal audit
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of audit assignments.
- Perform audit procedures, including walkthroughs, testing, and documentation.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit working papers.
- Participate in audit closing meetings and follow up on action plans.
- Support the drafting of audit observations and recommendations.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all audit activities.
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or commerce.
- A mid-level qualification from CA Sri Lanka or a similar qualification from a recognised professional body such as ACCA, CMA, or AAT.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in internal/external audit or finance-related roles.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of auditing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Internal audit assistant
Key responsibilities:
- Support audit planning and execution of fieldwork.
- Conduct audit testing of internal controls, policies, and procedures under supervision.
- Gather, analyse, and document evidence for audit findings.
- Assist in preparing working papers and audit reports.
- Follow up on pending audit issues and help track implementation status.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the internal audit team as required.
- Participate in departmental or institutional risk assessment and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and skills:
- A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or commerce (or currently pursuing ACCA, CMA, or AAT).
- Minimum of 1 year experience in audit or finance-related roles.
- Familiarity with basic auditing and accounting principles.
- Good attention to detail, communication, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
