Executive – internal audit

Key responsibilities:

1. Assist in the planning and execution of audit assignments.
2. Perform audit procedures, including walkthroughs, testing, and documentation.
3. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
4. Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit working papers.
5. Participate in audit closing meetings and follow up on action plans.
6. Support the drafting of audit observations and recommendations.
7. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all audit activities.

Qualifications and skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or commerce.
2. A mid-level qualification from CA Sri Lanka or a similar qualification from a recognised professional body such as ACCA, CMA, or AAT.
3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in internal/external audit or finance-related roles.
4. Strong attention to detail and understanding of auditing principles.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Internal audit assistant

Key responsibilities:

1. Support audit planning and execution of fieldwork.
2. Conduct audit testing of internal controls, policies, and procedures under supervision.
3. Gather, analyse, and document evidence for audit findings.
4. Assist in preparing working papers and audit reports.
5. Follow up on pending audit issues and help track implementation status.
6. Provide administrative and clerical support to the internal audit team as required.
7. Participate in departmental or institutional risk assessment and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and skills:

1. A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or commerce (or currently pursuing ACCA, CMA, or AAT).
2. Minimum of 1 year experience in audit or finance-related roles.
3. Familiarity with basic auditing and accounting principles.
4. Good attention to detail, communication, and time-management skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
