Role overview

This role sits at the core of PGK’s ambition to deliver market-leading kitchen design, technical accuracy, and superior client service.

The design & technical coordinator will support in store sales designers by producing alternative design concepts, ensuring full compliance with PGK design standards, and elevating the visual and technical quality of all client-facing materials.

In parallel, the role will also function as a design governance and training function, ensuring consistency across the showroom network, supporting onboarding designers, and reinforcing best practice across design, compliance, and systems.

Key responsibilities

1. Design support & development

  1. Produce alternative kitchen design concepts to support sales designers in converting winning client mandate.
  2. Refine and optimise layouts to improve functionality, aesthetics, and commercial viability.
  3. Collaborate with designers to elevate overall design quality and client appeal.

2. Technical design & documentation

  1. Prepare detailed technical drawings including:
  2. Electrical layouts
  3. Installation plans
  4. Technical packs for project delivery
  5. Ensure all designs are installation-ready and aligned with supplier specifications.

3. Design compliance & audit

  1. Audit designs against PGK sales manuals, planning rules, and technical standards.
  2. Identify errors, risks, or inefficiencies prior to client presentation and order placement.
  3. Maintain consistency and quality control across all showroom outputs.

4. Visualisation & presentation quality

  1. Upscale and enhance render quality to premium standards.
  2. Dress and stage designs to create high-impact client presentations.
  3. Ensure all visual outputs reflect PGK’s premium brand positioning.

5. Training & onboarding support

  1. Support onboarding of new sales designers.
  2. Train team members on:
  3. PGK sales manuals
  4. Design compliance processes
  5. Design software and tools
  6. Act as an ongoing resource for best practice and technical queries.

Key performance indicators (KPIs)

  1. Design accuracy and compliance rate
  2. Reduction in design-related errors post-order
  3. Improvement in presentation quality and client conversion support
  4. Speed and turnaround time of design support requests
  5. Effectiveness of training (new designer ramp-up time)
  6. Consistency of design standards across showrooms

Skills & experience required

Essential

  1. Proven experience in design (preferably kitchens).
  2. Strong ability to comprehend technical aspects of kitchen planning and installation requirements.
  3. High proficiency in CAD software use (preferably winner flex, 2020, compusoft or similar).
  4. Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset.
  5. Ability to interpret and apply design rules and technical documentation.

Desirable

  1. Experience working with multiple product ranges (preferably in kitchen industry).
  2. Experience in a design audit or quality control function.
  3. People management, training or mentoring experience.
  4. Fluency in english.
