Cost accountant

SR Group is looking for a dynamic and analytical cost accountant to support our manufacturing operations across SR Metal, SR Steel, and SR Cable. The successful candidate will be responsible for product costing, cost control, profitability analysis, inventory monitoring, and driving financial efficiency improvements throughout the group.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain accurate product costing.
2. Analyze raw material consumption, wastage, labour, and production efficiency.
3. Develop and monitor standard costing systems.
4. Conduct cost variance analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
5. Monitor production, utility, transport, and maintenance costs.
6. Verify BOM accuracy and process costing.
7. Prepare profitability and operational efficiency reports.
8. Conduct inventory verification and cost analysis.
9. Monitor scrap generation and recovery processes.
10. Coordinate with production, stores, purchasing, and finance teams.
11. Ensure proper allocation of overhead costs.

Candidate profile

1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
2. Experience in manufacturing cost accounting.
3. Good knowledge of inventory control and profitability analysis.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
5. Professional accounting qualification or part qualification will be an advantage.
6. Experience in food costing will be an added advantage.
