Chief manager – finance & strategic planning division

Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC (MBSL), a leading finance company and a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Chief Manager – Finance & Strategic Planning Division.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee and ensure smooth functioning of finance division operations.
2. Monitor financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
3. Ensure timely submission of MIS and statutory reports.
4. Review financial statements, regulatory reports, and board papers.
5. Strengthen internal controls and improve system efficiencies.
6. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Lead annual report activities and support strategic planning initiatives.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
9. Manage, guide, and develop departmental staff.

Qualifications & skills

1. Fully qualified professional in accounting or finance from a recognised professional body such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
2. Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field will be an added advantage.
3. Minimum 5 years’ of experience in a managerial position in the finance department, preferably in banking or finance sector.
4. Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting and financial controls.
5. Proven leadership and team management skills.
6. Age: preferably below 45 years.
