Business Intelligence Analyst

Key responsibilities

1. Data analysis & reporting
2. Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple internal systems and external sources.
3. Develop and maintain BI dashboards, automated reports, and visualizations.
4. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly performance analytics to management.
5. Track KPIs and highlight trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
6. Business insights & decision support
7. Interpret complex datasets and present insights in a clear and business-friendly manner.
8. Work closely with stakeholders (operations, finance, HR, risk, etc.) to understand reporting needs.
9. Support business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reviews.
10. Provide insights on customer behavior, product performance, operational efficiency, and risk indicators.
11. Data governance & system management
12. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all platforms.
13. Collaborate with IT to improve data structures, data flows, and system integrations.
14. Maintain documentation of reports, KPI definitions, and data sources.
15. Process improvement
16. Identify opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual workload.
17. Recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights.
18. Support the implementation of BI tools and digital transformation initiatives.

Key requirements

1. Education
2. Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, IT, business management, finance, or related field.
3. Experience
4. 2-5 years’ experience in business intelligence, data analysis, MIS reporting, or similar analytical role.
5. Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).
6. Experience in financial services/microfinance sector is an added advantage.
7. Technical skills & soft skills
8. Strong knowledge of SQL and database querying.
9. Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI / Tableau / Qlik).
10. Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, Power Query, DAX is a plus).
11. Ability to work with large datasets and multiple data sources.
12. Knowledge of statistical methods and data modelling (an advantage).
13. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
14. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
15. Ability to translate data into business insights.
16. High attention to detail.
17. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
18. Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
