Assistant Purchasing Manager

We are looking for an experienced individual to be appointed as assistant manager (purchasing).

Key responsibilities

1. Develop and oversee supplier sourcing strategies by identifying, evaluating, and building strong relationships with reliable vendors.
2. Develop and manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
3. Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
4. Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and payment terms to ensure value for money. (Special with foreign supplier)
5. Ensure timely procurement of packaging, engineering, and import items to support uninterrupted production.
6. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving and risk mitigation opportunities.
7. Coordinate with production, finance, and supply chain teams to align procurement with business needs.
8. Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, and documentation.
9. Supervise and guide procurement team members to archive departmental objectives.

Candidates requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, or a related field.
2. Strong knowledge of import procedure & documentation.
3. Professional qualification will be added advantage.
4. Minimum 4-6 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
5. Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
6. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Proficiency in MS office (specially excel) and ERP systems.
8. Experience in HS code & TIEP system would be added advantage.
