Assistant Manager – Quality Control and Quality Assurance

MA’s Kitchen is a well-known food manufacturer in Sri Lanka. With four manufacturing facilities situated in key growing regions, we manufacture over 300 different products for customers in local and global markets.

Our Minuwangoda plant- Produce of Paradise, is seeking a dynamic and experienced assistant manager- QA and QC to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control at our Minuwangoda Coconut Processing plant.

Key responsibilities

1. Directly assist in documentation and audit preparation for BRCGS, FSSC22000, ISO14001, ISO45001, Halal, Kosher, Fairtrade, organic (NOP, USDA, JAS)
2. Thorough knowledge in HACCP implementation and risk assessments
3. Practical exposure in traceability maintenance
4. Practical exposure in CAPA (corrective and preventive actions)
5. Quality management of finished goods, suppliers and service providers including supplier approval, supplier audits, supplier evaluations
6. Inspection of incoming raw materials, packing materials and chemicals
7. Monitoring and verification of the production process
8. Thorough knowledge in food preservation including retorting and canning
9. Inspection of vehicles carrying finished goods during product deliveries for both the export and local markets
10. Practical exposure in pest control procedures and personal hygiene
11. Thorough knowledge of drawing samples for testing and inspection
12. Maintaining documentation on daily process activities including CCPs and OPRPs

Requirements

1. Degree in food science, agriculture or in a related field
2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality assurance/control in a senior executive or managerial role
3. Experience in a BRC, FSSC 22000-certified food manufacturing facility
4. Understanding and work experience on BRC, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, GMP, OHSAS, ISO 14000, organic & kosher standards
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
