Assistant Manager – Procurement

Role overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced assistant manager – procurement to oversee procurement operations, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Key responsibilities
Sourcing & supplier management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost efficiency
- Timely fulfillment in support of project needs
- Maintain and continuously improve the supplier database ensuring adequate options are in place to source
Procurement & purchase order management
- Oversee the preparation and issuance of purchase orders in compliance with company policies
- Monitor order progress and resolve any discrepancies or delays
- Ensure proper documentation and approval processes are followed
Shipping & logistics coordination
- Manage import procedures with allied authorities (BOI, customs etc.), shipping documentation, freight forwarders on a timely basis
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules
Stakeholder communication
- Maintain strong communication with suppliers and internal departments
- Provide updates on procurement status and address any operational issues
Process improvement & compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and efficiency in line with industry best practices and standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and documentation
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
- 5–10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations (preferably in a manufacturing/production or printing environment)
- Familiarity and the use of ERP or allied systems for procurement activities is a must
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, negotiation and supplier management
