Assistant manager – lean & process improvement (Egypt)

We are a leading Sri Lankan multinational apparel manufacturing group with a strong global footprint and a reputation for excellence. As part of our strategic expansion, we are seeking an assistant manager, lean & process improvements, for our apparel manufacturing facility in Egypt. This role will play a critical part in establishing operational processes, building team capability, and creating a strong culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Role & responsibilities

  1. Establish and standardize operational processes, workflows, and best practices for the manufacturing facility.
  2. Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across factory operations.
  3. Drive lean tools and methodologies include Kaizen, 5S, visual management, waste elimination, and process optimization initiatives.
  4. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, cost, delivery, and operational performance.
  5. Develop and monitor key operational KPIs and improvement action plans for management review.
  6. Support factory teams in driving productivity improvements, reducing non-value-added activities, and minimizing operational waste.
  7. Conduct training programs and capability-building sessions to develop employee awareness and understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement practices.
  8. Build and strengthen a continuous improvement culture by coaching teams and promoting employee engagement in improvement initiatives.
  9. Support new implementation processes, pilot projects, and operational change management initiatives.

Experience & qualifications

  1. Degree or professional qualification in engineering, textile technology, industrial management, or related field.
  2. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in lean manufacturing / process improvement within textile or apparel manufacturing.

  5. Six sigma concepts
  6. Industrial engineering practices
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  9. Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
