Assistant manager – collections / recovery

Key responsibilities

  1. Oversee and coordinate collection activities for due and outstanding payments.
  2. Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
  3. Develop and implement effective collection strategies.
  4. Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers.
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  6. Prepare collection reports and analyze recovery performance.
  7. Coordinate with sales, finance, and customer service teams.
  8. Lead and supervise collection officers and support staff.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years in the banking/finance sector, with sound knowledge of international money transfers, collections, and foreign exchange transactions / excel pivot table formulas.
  3. Fluent in English and Sinhala, Tamil will be an added advantage.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/accounting systems.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet collection targets.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
