Junior Legal and Compliance Officer

We are in search of a dynamic and committed young professional to fill the position of Junior Legal and Compliance Officer.

The role requires assisting the Manager of Legal & Compliance/HOD in functions related to ensuring Corporate Governance, complying with regulatory requirements, attending to all legal matters pertaining to court cases and commercial contracts, and carrying out statutory and audit compliance functions.

The ideal candidate profile should have the following

Qualifications/Skills:

• Should be an Attorney-at-Law
• Having a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) obtained from a university recognized by the UGC and Notarial License (Sinhala/English) to practice in Colombo District would be an added advantage
• At least 2 years experience working as a corporate lawyer; experience in drafting and reviewing commercial legal documents is mandatory
• Experience in compliance or other control-related functions in a health services institute, regulatory organization, firm, or a combination thereof would be an added advantage
• Sound knowledge of Commercial/Company Law and working knowledge of Compliance laws, Rules, and Regulations related to the health sector
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Sinhala
• Possess good IT knowledge & proficiency in MS office packages
• Ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills and a teamwork-oriented attitude
