MEP Maintenance Engineer

The MEP Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within the building. The role ensures these systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently, supporting the overall safety, comfort, and functionality of the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults promptly to minimize downtime and disruption.
• Oversee system upgrades, installations, and modifications in compliance with safety standards and building codes.
• Monitor and optimize energy consumption, recommending efficiency improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and repairs.
• Ensure all MEP systems adhere to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for parts, services, and system upgrades.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support.
• Support ongoing sustainability and energy-saving initiatives.
• Assist in planning and implementing building renovation or refurbishment projects involving MEP systems.

Qualifications & experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering, with building services qualifications.
• Proven experience in building maintenance or facilities management, preferably in MEP systems.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical & other requirements

• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, or in various environmental conditions.
• Availability for emergency call-outs outside regular working hours if required.
