Senior associate – accounting & finance (Australia)

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian tax, payroll and statutory requirements (e.g. GST, BAS, PAYG and superannuation).
• Work with Australian clients and internal teams across multiple geographies to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
• Support audits and provide documentation as required.
• Identify process improvements and support automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional accounting and finance experience (with at least 2 years in the Australian context).
• Good working knowledge of Australian tax regulations (GST, BAS, payroll and superannuation).
• Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and/or similar cloud accounting software (ERP experience is an advantage).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and clients.
• A go-getter mindset, proactive attitude, and willingness to take initiative.
• CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA certification is an advantage.
