T- Field Child Development Federation is a non-governmental organization based in Nuwara Eliya and Damblilla in Sri Lanka and it has been working with communities with the mission of empowering children and youth to improve their lives and proving opportunities to become young leaders who bring positive changes in their communities. In doing so, TFCDF has been working towards promoting and facilitating child-friendly communities through its child protection, education, and youth programs.

Consultancy — Field Coordinator (Nuwara Eliya ) to implement home garden and community garden programs in Livelihood and Food security project – 6 months

Role overview

Consultants will be responsible for the timely implementation of the project activities, progress monitoring, and reporting in project locations. The hired consultant needs to coordinate the process to establish the home garden and community gardens. Technical guidance and other logistics support to complete the proposed tasks will be provided. The consultant is expected to closely work with government and private stakeholders, facilitate training of trainers and farmer/youth training activities with the support of community volunteers, maintain project information, and submit program reports. A consultant is hired on an assignment basis for a period of six months from September 2022 to February 2023.

Qualifications, Experience, and skills

Possess a basic degree in agriculture or equivalent qualifications
Experience in Community development programs
Extended experience in social mobilization and community-based activity implementation in the plantation sector will be considered an added qualification
Proficiency in spoken and written Tamil and English
Thorough knowledge of the socio-economic conditions of the families in these locations and experience working with children will be an added advantage
Experience in working with government stakeholders
Salaries are negotiable for the above positions depending on experience and qualifications
