Accountants | assistant accountants

We are looking for proactive and detail-oriented accounts & finance professionals to join our growing finance team. This role offers exposure to all aspects of the finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general accounting duties.

Key responsibilities

1. Maintain accurate financial records and accounting entries.
2. Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments.
3. Manage customer accounts, cash allocations, and debt collection activities.
4. Reconcile bank accounts and control accounts on a regular basis.
5. Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reconciliations.
6. Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments.
7. Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
8. Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
9. Monitor cash flow and investigate financial discrepancies.
10. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
11. Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.

Skills & experience

1. Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
4. Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems is advantageous.
5. Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Fluency in English is essential.
8. Ability to work with UK-based clients and adapt to the assigned work schedules.
9. Willingness to work according to the UK business calendar and public holidays when required.

Qualifications

1. AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent accounting qualifications (completed, part-qualified, or currently studying) would be advantageous.
2. Relevant accounting and finance experience will also be considered.
