We are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented, patriotic individual to take up the below position and join our team of high flyers.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or management from a recognized university in Sri Lanka
- Part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, CMA, or ACCA
- At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a similar position. Priority will be given to individuals with experience in a manufacturing company. Experience in an audit firm will be considered an added advantage
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks will be considered an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet work deadlines with minimal supervision
- Understanding of banking procedures, tax procedures, and treasury management
- Age below 40 years
Key responsibilities
As an assistant accountant at Lanka Bio Fertilizers (Pvt) Limited, you will:
- Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports for management
- Maintain and reconcile accurate financial records
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
- Assist in analyzing financial data to provide insights for decision-making
- Manage accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) functions of the company, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Prepare and submit tax returns, schedules, and related statutory filings to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations
- Liaise with external auditors and banks on matters relating to audits, financing facilities and financial reporting
- Debtor management / credit control
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial goals
