Finance Manager

At Coop Life Insurance, we are committed to delivering trusted insurance solutions while maintaining strong financial governance and operational excellence. We are seeking a dynamic, result-oriented, and experienced professional to join our Finance Division as a Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the company
2. Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and regulatory submissions
3. Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
4. Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with company objectives
5. Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
6. Monitor and manage company cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements
7. Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic insights to support decision-making
8. Coordinate with auditors, regulatory authorities, banks, and other external stakeholders
9. Strengthen internal controls, financial systems, and risk management practices
10. Liaise with the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL), actuary, company secretary, external auditors, and internal audit department on finance-related matters
11. Drive cost optimization initiatives and improve operational efficiencies
12. Collaborate with departmental heads in preparing and monitoring budgets
13. Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members to achieve departmental objectives
14. Support the CEO and senior management by providing accurate financial information and recommendations
15. Oversee investment-related activities and capital management functions

Qualifications & experience

1. Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field from a recognized university
2. Professional qualification such as CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial position within the finance sector
4. Experience in the insurance industry will be a distinct advantage
5. Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
6. Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively
