About the company

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Sri Lanka (CIT Sri Lanka), established by an act of Parliament, is the national statutory body for tax professionals and the premier institution for tax education in Sri Lanka. We invite applications from an exceptional and visionary leader to serve as our Chief Operating Officer (COO). This is a unique opportunity to lead the institute, drive strategic initiatives, and enhance the role of taxation in national development.

Key responsibilities

1. Provide strategic leadership and overall management of CIT Sri Lanka.
2. Oversee academic, administrative, and financial operations.
3. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements.
4. Develop and implement initiatives for CPD, membership growth, and professional excellence.
5. Represent the institute with professional bodies, industry stakeholders, and government entities.
6. Lead and develop staff to foster a high-performance and collaborative culture.
7. Drive national and international strategic expansion initiatives.

Qualifications & experience

1. Fully qualified member of a recognized professional body (e.g., FCIT, CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or
2. Proven senior leadership experience (e.g., CEO, COO, director, or head of a professional or educational institution) or government departments with
3. Strong knowledge of taxation, finance, governance, and professional education standards.
4. Demonstrated strategic, organizational, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
5. High integrity, vision, and proven leadership ability.

Important note

The position requires compulsory work on Saturdays and Sundays, with 1.5 days of weekday leave provided in lieu.
