Technical Officer (Construction)

GIM General Trading & Construction (Pvt) Ltd is a fast-growing company engaged in construction, infrastructure development, material supply, and engineering projects across Sri Lanka. We are looking for a highly motivated and technically competent technical office engineer to strengthen our construction operations and project coordination.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare and review BOQs, estimates, and material take-offs.
2. Coordinate technical documentation for construction projects.
3. Prepare shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions.
4. Monitor project progress and support site coordination activities.
5. Assist in planning, scheduling, and project reporting.
6. Maintain proper documentation related to project execution.
7. Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
8. Support tender preparation and quantity calculations.
9. Ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
10. Assist in cost control and project tracking activities.

Required qualifications

1. Degree / diploma in civil engineering, construction technology, quantity surveying, or related field.
2. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
3. Good knowledge of BOQ preparation, estimation, and and technical documentation.
4. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
5. Experience in road, building, or infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
6. Strong communication and coordination skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
8. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Software knowledge

Candidates with knowledge in the following software will be given priority:

1. AutoCAD
2. MS Project / Primavera
3. Microsoft Excel & Office package
4. Quantity estimation software
5. BIM / Revit knowledge will be an added advantage.
