Trainee Hardware Support Assistant

Key responsibilities

1. Assist in installation, configuration, and upgrading of desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
2. Provide first-level troubleshooting for hardware, peripheral, and basic network issues
3. Support operating system installation and basic software setup
4. Replace or repair faulty hardware components under supervision
5. Perform routine preventive maintenance of IT equipment
6. Assist in LAN cabling, patching, and basic network device setup
7. Maintain hardware inventory and update asset records
8. Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims and repairs
9. Support IT team during system upgrades and infrastructure projects

Qualifications

1. G.C.E. ordinary level (O/L) or advanced level (A/L) qualification
2. Diploma in IT, computer hardware, networking, or a related field (NVQ or equivalent is an added advantage)
3. Basic knowledge of computer hardware components (desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals)
4. Basic understanding of operating systems (windows) and common software applications
5. Willingness to learn troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of hardware
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
8. Positive attitude with strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills
