About the company
The company, an ISO-certified organization based in Fiji, is a joint venture between two major hardware retailers in Fiji and a leading publicly listed cable manufacturer in Sri Lanka. Equipped with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the company produces high-quality power cables to meet the growing demand in both domestic and international markets.
The company recently opened its sales office in Papua New Guinea to further expand its regional business operations.
An outstanding opportunity exists for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team based in Lae, Papua New Guinea, in the capacity of Sales Manager.
As the successful candidate, you will be reporting to the Director in charge and is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market share, and managing customer relationships for cable products. The role focuses on achieving revenue targets, developing new business opportunities, and managing key accounts across industrial, construction, and infrastructure in the country.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and business growth in Papua New Guinea.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction, infrastructure, electrical, and hardware sectors.
- Maintain strong relationships with distributors, contractors, wholesalers, and key accounts.
- Manage and monitor the sales pipeline, prepare forecasts, and report on sales performance.
- Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
- Lead, guide, and motivate the local sales team to achieve organizational objectives.
Requirements
A degree or professional qualification in marketing, business management, engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in sales, preferably in cables, electrical products, construction materials, or hardware industry.
- Proven experience in business development and key account management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and achieve targets in a competitive market.
- Prior experience in the PNG market or Pacific region will be an added advantage.
